Picture it: Stretching out on a beach chair under a thatched-roof cabana on a white sandy beach next to the warm blue Caribbean; blue sky and swaying palm trees overhead. Nothing interrupts this bit of heaven except the realization that it's time for your massage a couple cabanas over. Ah, yes. What a jolt to come back to reality, going from 85 degree weather to 8 in just under 12 hours. It seems like an eternity ago now, but our family lived this dream for our first-ever K Adventure at Be Live Resort in the Canoa, La Romana area of the Dominican Republic. It took us several years of saving, but we managed to make it happen in time for Don's official retirement date. In fact, he was lying on said beach for the whole of his first day of laborious freedom. What a way to sign off!
We arrived at 1:30 a.m. DR time and this was how we were greeted...not a bad start. Obviously, we were in the right place!
This is how we all felt about our new surroundings the next day. Talk about feeling thankful. We smiled nonstop all week!

This is how I felt; completely rested and content. If Heaven is anything less than this, I will be disappointed.
